Excellent Aerospace Education Award
The NLF occasionally grants an award to an educational institution that has made exceptional contributions to the development of aviation and/or aerospace. The jury, in consultation with the NLF Board, decides on awarding the Excellent Aerospace Education (EAE) Award. It assesses the performance of educational institutions on the criteria listed below.
To qualify for the EAE award, they must perform above average in all these areas:
1. Good education: this means both providing students with adequate knowledge and skills and offering training that the business sector needs. This can be measured, among other things, by the speed with which young people find employment in the industry after their study;
2. Good contacts with companies in the aviation and aerospace sector and related knowledge institutions. The educational institution is at the centre of society and has, for example, an active internship policy;
3. The educational institution excites students to work in the aviation and aerospace sector;
4. The institution organises events to raise interest in aviation and aerospace;
5. The institution has an active internship policy with companies involved in the sector;
6. The institution enthuses its pupils/students about aviation and aerospace even beyond the educational programme. This is demonstrably done through activities such as lectures, excursions and support of the pupil or student association of their own study programme;
7. The educational institution encourages its own students to compete for NLF incentive awards and support them in submissions.
The NLF grants the EAE Award to appreciate the commitment of educational institutions and to encourage them to continue generating student interest in the sector. A programme can compete for the award once every three years.
